It will look at Warhol’s successful career in both commercial art and fine art between the 1950s and the 1980s and explore his concept of art making as well as his sensibilities towards contemporary living and culture.
The exhibition will have on display over 468 items from the collection of The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, including paintings, drawings, photographs and screen prints by Warhol, and archival objects and photos documenting his creative and famous life.
Also included in the exhibition are Warhol’s Time Capsules, in which the artist filled daily with souvenirs, letters, newspapers and magazines, business records, photographs, and other ephemera from his life. In particular, content from Time Capsule - 23 will be on display at this Hong Kong venue, highlighting items Warhol collected during his visit to this city in 1982.
In addition, there will be screenings of Warhol’s films and videos to provide a comprehensive view of Warhol’s oeuvre.
