The overall mirror measures 503mm x 430mm (19.75" x 17")
I wanted to try to create a unique and unusual mirror that just spoke of artisan style, culture and class.
But I needed inspiration, and like all good inspiration it came unexpectedly following a chance conversation while I was getting a haircut, and suddenly I had an exquisite idea to follow up...
Coincidentally, later that day, a friend gave me some antique and interesting classical music score sheets that were quite discoloured, stained and beyond being useful to a musician - but were a perfect starting point for the beginning of one of my favourite artisan mirrors.
So, here it is: Classical old music scores of various composers from Handel, Mozart and others, layered with a cover of great choral works.
For a music enthusiast - this unusual mirror may just be the perfect, personal gift.
I took a slightly damaged book on famous classical choral works of Handel, Beethoven, Purcell, Elgar and more. I then combined this with the old music scores and created a lookthat is just fabulous.
I layered the scores over each other to bring out the different levels of yellowing and staining, and also to highlight the different energies of the classical music pieces. Excerpts from Handel's Messiah can be read in places on the frame.
This is a unique one off piece.
