Magnificent seascape by Robert Taylor. The painting was reproduced in 1979 as worldwide limited editions of 850 prints, each signed and numbered by the artist, and individually counter-signed by Sir Edward Heath MP who first took up sailing in the summer of 1966, when he was Leader of the Conservative Party.
MORNING CLOUD was launched early in 1971, and in July was chosen for the British team for the Admiral's Cup, with Sir Edward Heath, then Prime Minister, as captain of the team. This is the only occasion on which a British Prime Minister has skippered a British team in an international sporting event, a fact that adds considerably to the historical significance of this limited edition. In August of that year the Admiral's Cup, the foremost racing trophy in the world, was won by Britain. This print vividly captures the tension and excitement of ocean racing at its very best.
