Technics SL-1000MkII Turntable with Superb SP-10MKll Motor Unit

Up for auction is my personal Technics SL-1000Mkll turntable set: comprising the renowned and legendary SP-10MKll direct-drive motor unit, with SH-10E external power supply, housed in its original SH-10B3 obsidian base/cover.

The turntable has been owned by me for the past 17 years and is in perfect working order, with everything in fabulous cosmetic condition.

With thirty years experience of owning and servicing turntables, I can honestly say that the Technics SP-10/2 is the quietest, easiest and slickest to operate, with all controls perfectly located and impeccably implemented.

The SH-10B3 base assembly is of special note as it is a brilliant piece of engineering art: being ultra stylish as well as providing the optimum supporting structure for getting the best sound and performance from the SP-10Mkll turntable. The overall design is very clever: being a triple-layer structure comprising a top body made of obsidian (volcanic glass), a bottom wooden main-frame and an intermediate constained damping layer. Each layer has been positioned in the structure and made to work in a way that utilizes the specific physical attributes of each material in order to exclude unwanted vibrations and, thereby, produce the most pure and uncoloured sound possible from your cherished records.

Power unit is switchable for all international mains voltages.

The 'SME' armboard and two new blank ones are supplied.
